Beside the famous Sevenhill Cellars stands St Aloysius Church, a serene neo-Gothic stone church built by the Jesuits in the 1860s. It is the spiritual heart of the settlement the Austrian priests founded - the same mission that planted the valley's first vines and still makes sacramental wine today.
The church's most affecting feature is the crypt beneath, the resting place of generations of Jesuit priests and brothers who shaped the region. The hushed, vaulted space and the quiet grounds make for a moving, reflective stop.
