The Little Red Grape Bakery

Award-winning pies in an 1849 building at Sevenhill.

Sevenhill's much-loved bakery turns out nationally awarded pies and sausage rolls from an 1849 building on Main North Road, with grassy grounds to enjoy them on.

Every wine region needs a great bakery, and in the Clare Valley the queue forms at Sevenhill. The Little Red Grape bakes from an 1849 building on Main North Road, and its pastry cabinet carries serious credentials — including national titles at the Great Aussie Pie Competition, with its sausage rolls taking top honours multiple years running.

It is open seven days, which makes it the reliable breakfast-and-lunch anchor for a day of touring: coffee and a pie between tastings, or a paper bag of pastries for a picnic along the Riesling Trail, which passes close by.

The grassy grounds suit kids and dogs, and the historic Jesuit winery at Sevenhill Cellars is just down the road, so the oldest winery in the valley and one of its best bakeries can be ticked off in a single stop.
