Claymore Wines
A music-loving cellar door near Leasingham with wines named after rock albums and a relaxed garden setting.
Claymore wears its personality on its label. Wines named for classic rock and pop albums — and a cellar door soundtracked accordingly — make this one of the more laid-back stops on the trail, without the wines themselves being any kind of gimmick.
The Riesling is crisp and reliable, but Claymore is best known for its reds, including a deep, brooding Shiraz that has built a loyal following. Tastings happen in a garden setting that invites you to slow down, and the welcome is warm and unfussy.
It is an easy, fun stop on the stretch between Watervale and Clare — proof that serious wine and a good time are not mutually exclusive.
