Cogwebs Hub Cafe & Bike Hire
Coffee, homemade food and bikes where two rail trails meet.
At the southern end of the Riesling Trail, Cogwebs combines a cafe serving locally roasted coffee with bike hire for both the Riesling and Rattler rail trails.
Auburn is the hinge between the Clare Valley's two rail trails — the Riesling Trail running north and the Rattler running south — and Cogwebs sits right at the pivot. The hub cafe on Main North Road serves locally roasted coffee and homemade food built on local and South Australian produce, with seating inside and in a courtyard.
The bike hire side kits riders out for the rail trails, with helmets and a bottle of water included and a briefing on distances, gradients and places to stop along the way. The trails themselves are gentle — about 1.5 per cent grade on the Riesling Trail and one per cent on the Rattler Trail — which keeps the riding friendly for families and casual cyclists.
The shop doubles as a visitor information outlet, so it is a sensible first stop when arriving in Auburn from the south.
