Terroir Auburn

A celebrated French-inflected restaurant in a heritage stone building at Auburn, pairing refined cooking with a deep Clare wine list.

Terroir brought serious destination dining to the southern end of the valley. Set in a handsome heritage stone building in the village of Auburn, it serves a refined, French-leaning menu built around regional produce and a thoughtfully curated wine list heavy with local Riesling and Shiraz.

The room is intimate and the cooking confident — think slow-braised meats, house-made charcuterie and seasonal vegetables, all plated with care. Booking ahead is strongly advised, particularly on weekends.

Paired with a stay in Auburn and a morning on the Riesling Trail, dinner here makes for one of the more memorable evenings the Clare Valley offers.
