Clare Valley Farmers' Market
A monthly gathering of local growers, bakers and producers at the Clare Showground - the best place to taste the valley beyond the wine.
On market mornings the Clare Showground fills with the smell of fresh bread and coffee as growers, bakers and artisan producers set up their stalls. The Clare Valley Farmers' Market is the region's showcase for everything that isn't in a wine glass: olives and olive oil, honey, smallgoods, seasonal fruit and vegetables, preserves and just-baked goods.
It's a friendly, local affair - a chance to meet the people who grow and make the valley's produce, fill a basket for a picnic and soak up some community atmosphere. Arrive early for the best of the baking, which sells out fast.
Check dates before you travel, as the market runs on selected mornings each month rather than every weekend.
